they ban the account that did the rmt, they lock accounts on the same ip as a "warning"

saw someone else get banned, failed the appeal so he made a new account (like they told him to). They locked the new account only after a few hours and pretty much said "don't do it again" meaning they had his ip flagged.

not good  so a lot of things changed. jsp wasnt an ip ban, just acc ban  before even if they banned you for jsp, you could just make a new acc and they not only didnt lock it, they didnt even try. they were like "well ofc ur free to make a new acc"

as ipez said, they ask for chars to verify if its you yes  they always do that pretty much

btw whats the difference between your main and alt acc? money spent? might be why main got a second chance so to say  !

There is a huge difference in money spent and account age. But the alt-account is the only one that has actually traded for out-of-game currency (and afterwards traded it to my main with a half-assed "wtb"-message and crap rare). What I am afraid of is pissing someone at support of, either by admitting to rmt and getting my locked main account banned. Or by denying rmt and pissing them off cause they see my alt-account is on the same ip.

Gotta tread carefully

oookay then that changes a lot  i didnt know that when i pmed you  but if your acc got banned, admitting anything might be a bad course of action

personal opinion, since its two different accounts and the main didnt go any trading, you might as well just deny it since you didnt get caught and they have no proof if it was you on that ip or someone else  might not wanna listen to me though as that never really happened to me, i always use different ips  maybe they saw your alt being a burner account and banned it just to send a message, or it might have had 0$ invested and they directly banned it cause of that

i would personally deny everything, but i advise you to see more peoples opinions on this here  !

edit: if you traded between the accs then again better to admit

Looks like it.

it's a fairly common practice doing "banwaves", gather evidence and then ban alot of accounts in a short timespan. Makes it harder for botters/rmters whatever to adjust.

most people who say they were banned after not playing for months were banned shortly after they stopped playing and just didnt notice it.

ggg doesn't do ban waves that staggered, you can go trade with any of the big flippers and see how fast you get banned =)

Like KenShiro saying "you don't know it, but you are already dead".

For what it's worth this is what I think happened. Alt-account traded with a bad egg, and was banned (I don't think amount or lack of MTX mattered). Main account was one step further "down the chain" and got locked. Both probably automatic, and both under a day after I did the trade which I suspect got both of them flagged.

What I am nervous for is when they check manually and see both accounts are from the same IP. Will I get my main banned like my alt, or get away with a slap on the wrist?

well you have 2 options really:

1) deny and say something like "i live with someone and he gifted me those items, i didnt know he acquired them illegally" and
2) admit and say "yeah it was me but i wont do it ever again"

i think you will avoid the ban if you do either honestly, but think about things like, how much playtime does your alt have etc? might help you know what their intention was. for example if you have a playtime of 2 hours total on the banned acc, its obvious that its a burner account and may have been the reason for banning and admitting might be better (also even though you avoid to answer the question, do consider how much money you invested in it). but if you played a lot on your alt as well, you are very likely correct and it was banned just because it was the first in the chain, in which case denying might be the better option

all in all, i wouldnt like to be in your position  but i wish you luck  !
