IMHO good choice for starter after considering patch notes, as the power level stays the same and it goes well with league mechanique. Later on part of the people playing totems will switch to something different more gear dependant and a little more OP.

FP totem, 2 kika ring and 5 link soul mantle is all you need to get into red maps. Just press 1 button, summon totems.
