d2post contains blocked Quote ( by Snyft2 )well as a d2 player, there is one more major con: absolutely horrible pvp :( slow, boring, gear dependent, you name it

Hahaha omfg thats awful

Hell yeah. That is exactly what i wanted to hear

you will not disappointed fron PvE standpoint, the amount of content is HUGE, for a beginner at the current state
of PoE development you probably will feel overwhelmed, since basically they add a new extension of content every 3 month ...
( especially if you even consider crafting, thats an additional story as well, i´d suggest ignore complex crafting for now :D )

you do not need headhunter here to have fun with PoE - of course yes, headhunter again changes everything, but as a beginner for sure you will
not see a headhunter so far ( ... if you not extremely rng lucky dropping one in a nemesis mod map lul )

I came from Diablo 2 as a long long long time player but now I am a full time POE player.

Would lmao if he casually posts a headhunters tomorrow and asks "is this item any good for my moltenstrike toon?"

Anyhow, this game is definitely worth it. Especially if you like the gamble/chance part of D2. This game has a shit ton of that, it's the slotmachine game of RPG's.
I can't really say which game is better because of my age when I played D2. I was a whole different experience.
But PoE got me hooked just as much as D2 did.

best pvp game indeed  ! i mean there are a lot of good and bad things about poe...but the lack of pvp hurts like anal sex the day after eating mexican food

edit: just to clarify this bad wording by me, but the first sentence was about d2 and second about poe

funny isn't it? everything in d2 is op so no1 is op. While all these retarded game devs try to "balance" all their games leading to shit and slow pvp.

Path of Exile is the future. It's basically Diablo 2.5 with heaps of customization.

It takes awhile before you get into it but once you do you will bang your head on your desk for not playing this game earlier. I played in 2013 on PC but never got further than Act 2 on my shitty templar and gave up.

D2 community is just too small nowadays. No reason to play d2 anymore.

No idea why people are so madly passionate about PoE all of a sudden?
It's definitely not nearly as good as D2 was in it's prime, but it obviously is the better game today.

The game needs balance and longevity. But it is becoming clear to me by the day, that the very current businessmodel of GGG/PoE, is anti-balance. The game would die, were it balanced/programmed for long time replayability.
Theyre also not hiding it. They say themself that they try to make a game that we "want to come back to" every third month or so. But what about in the meantime?! Someone stated it well in a poe forum thread:

The balancing in GGG is about giving nolifers new op toy every 3 months and nerfing most of the other stuff into oblivion.
Don't play always online eternal grindfests, kids, they will never have anything remotely resembling balance.
Nobody changes rules in chess or football to keep things fresh, if you need to do it then your game sucks.

That's why PoE never will be as great as we want to believe it is. This is also (partially) why PoE feels more like a JOB, than a fun game. Sure, it's still very good, but it will never pass that bar to become truly legendary, imo.
Every few months the game asks you to relearn it. It's in the actual businessmodel. There's no long term progression.

INB4: "why don't you just play standard?!"
Well, what the fuck is the point? Give this game PvP that resembles D2-pvp, and perhaps I would be a standard player.
But fuck, just thinking that so many people play standard in an entirely PvE game, makes me laugh a little.

I'm glad!
and don't get me wrong, some does like PoE because it is just like that. But they aren't people that prefer sticking to 1 game at a time, in almost 90%+ of the case, I'm sure. They move on to some other title(s) they main or whatever, during month 2 and 3 of a league.
It's definitely worth a try, to see if you like it. I'm just myself realizing I'm not the targeted audience.
