I'd give it a shot if they had RMAH or something, it definitely has a potential to become successful if the currency in-game had value unlike D2.

Whatever, im not gonna go on some trading site and trade it for whatever currency they have like in D2. they should atleast have an auction house and some value in game-currency.
D3 has that infrustructure, yes they take 15% for every trade, but isn't it convenient most of the time without the hassle of searching through 100's of posts?

Currency Items
The game's economy is not based on coined currency such as Gold, Credits or similar. Selling and buying is instead accomplished by bartering for rare currency items.[8] Unlike traditional game currencies these items have their own inherent uses and thus provide their own money sinks to prevent inflation.

Here are the main currency items :
Scrolls :
Scroll of Wisdom - Identifies unknown properties of magic and rare items.
Portal Scroll - Creates a portal to town.
Orbs related to magic items :
Orb of Transmutation - Upgrades a normal item into a magic item.
Orb of Chance - Upgrades a normal item into a random quality item (magic, rare, etc..).
Orb of Alteration - Reforge a magic item with new random properties.
Orb of Augmentation - Enchant a magic item with a new random properties.
Orbs related to rare items :
Orb of Alchemy - Upgrade a normal item to a rare item.
Chaos Orb - Reforge a rare item with new random properties.
Exalted Orb - Enchant a rare item with a new random properties.
Orbs related to sockets :
Chromatic Orb - Reforge the colour of sockets on an item.
Jeweler's Orb - Reforge the number of sockets on an item.
Fusing Orb - Reforge the link between sockets on an item.
Other currencies
Gemcutter's Prism - Improves the quality of a gem.
Blessed Orb - Randomizes the numeric values of the implicit properties of an item.
Divine Orb - Randomizes the numeric values of the random properties on an item.
Orb of Scouring - Removes all properties from an item.
Orb of Regret - Grants a passive skill refund point.

Meh, I think PoE is better for game play and game depth but asthetically its hard to beat the D3 artists.. the ONLY thing I wish D3 had that PoE has as far as graphics goes is the darkness, creepy, crawly dungeon feeling.
Not saying D3 can't surpass PoE but it has a long way to go.
