Thank you for essentially describing the scam I just said.
Both are used to launder money essentially, and for the people not in on it, are getting scammed. IE Person A is laundering money, So it's legit for him, player B is actively buying into the game that is a rugpull, aka scammed.
Literally every single NFT game is a rugpull scheme and saying otherwise is wild, you can buy in, good luck cashing out. AKA every crypto scam in the past years. Sure you will be able to cash out 1k, or some peanut amount, good fucking luck cashing out 100k.
The only ones that will ever be successful will be ran by a bigger company like LMFAO E fucking A, because they are the only company scummy enough to make a legit NFT game.
Every other company knows its literally corporate suicide since everyone knows its a huge ass joke.
just looking at some of the more popular ones like axie infinity, they are literallybarebones websites that scream scam, at least earth 2 put on a website built by someone more competent than a 15 year old.
Okay I take it back, not just EA, but ubisoft, forgot they ran out of assassin creeds to make so they will just scam its customers with NFT instead.
You are right, but even if most 99% of the thousands of NFT games out there are ponzi schemes (in which you can make huge amounts of money, buying the token early and then selling at the first pump, and then jumping to the next ponzi and rinse and repeat, unless you get rugpull'ed at the very beginning), there are some who are trying hard to become a long sustainable play to earn style game. Axie Infinity's problem is that their NFTs (the axies) dont perish or get burned. They need to find a way to burn or control the supply of Axies (the NFTs) because they are the ones who can produce billions of SLP tokens non stop. So, if they implement a system in which they can control, limit or burn massively the axies (NFTs), and they also add a system or something that brings money into the ecosystem from the outside (depending on money solely from new players cant work long term) like advertising, tournaments, betting system or whatever, then they can make the game sustainable and profitable long term.
In these types of games, the reward token, SLP in this case, need to be inflationary, but most of the inflation can be countered by reinvestment (for example, feeding or fixing your axies so they can continue doing battle, this is not implemented yet but something like this needs to be implemented), but there will always be a small degree of inflation which is the gains that need to be cashed out by the players to profit. Its that degree of inflation that needs to be countered with demand + outside inflow of money to make the game or similar ones sustainable.
The other 99% are ponzi schemes disguised as "play to earn games", yes, but there is this 1% going into the right direction and changing gaming forever. I can tell you here in Venezuela, most people are no longer playing runescape, diablo, league of legends or similar games, they are moving into play to earn NFT games. Yes, most of them are getting burned and scammed because most of these so called play to earn games are ponzis that collapse pretty quick, but my point is that in time, good sustainable play to earn games will start gaining more popularity and most gamers will move to these types of games that give you an earning instead of giving you nothing. Thats the future of gaming.
Those are the NFTs I'm talking about, and those are the games I'm talking about. The future of NFT and gaming are here.
The NFTs that are just dumb useless pixels that do nothing are the main target for money laundering and I dont give a F about them.
