Ledge farm forever

Can you clue me in on this ledge farm?

Back when there were norm cruel and merciless difficulties and only 3 acts people would use ledge to power level and merciless docks was like the end game grind. Piety was the act 3 boss, and I don’t think maps existed yet? I think it may have been beta.

correct, and then they added dominus as end boss and then maps came after that prior to act 4
