Agree, just dont pick someone on top of the seller list because:
- its the cheapest so it is proberly sold already.
- the person is a price dropper and will not respond.

So i pick someone that is number 10+ in the list. 90% of the time i get respons.

Or just use live search with a maximum buyout price and wait for one to pop up

well yeah, everyone in poe needs currency, not everyone needs your item, so of course it will take forever to sell it here.

The answer is no. The game has been around for years now and despite the very vocal requests from players they haven't done it. They could but they won't even after 3rd party websites and some well connected guilds capitalized on the API to enrich themselves.

The reason is because the game is shit: it naturally progresses to singleplayer. They know more player interaction keeps people playing the game but haven't implemented a good enough end game to naturally affect this. The only thing that keeps people talking in this game other than during the first week or two of a new league and in global chat is during trades. They are reluctant to make serious improvements to the game that are obviously needed because the effect will be a game less people play, meaning they will make less money.

A company this big has the means to test if an AH would be good for them and they likely found that theyd be worse off financially for it.

Tldr: Indie game company that innovated and dethroned diablo became money hungry assholes who dont give a shit about gameplay.
