good to hear im not the only one around though.. hope itll get fixed with a patch soon

Just found out what my issue was.

Turns out after the 3.8 patch it somehow started running on my standard graphics card instead of my gtx 1060 on my notebook.

I switched it back and its all smooth again

I had the exact same issue. Solved by right clicking the shortcut and select my nvidia instead of the standard one. This even tho my nvidia was tagged “preferred” for poe.

My frame rates spike from like 20 to 200 every 3 seconds.. I can't even play this league either.. And that's just on a level 10 character

Note, starting poe this way doesn’t solve the issue permanently. You need to do the same procedure every startup of poe.
This took me from potato graphics to perfect graphics.

I was able to find a fix to the problem. You have to force both the x32 and x64 versions of the game to run on your dedicated video card.

Here is how to do it:
1. Open your NVidia Control panel and go to "Manage 3D Settings"
2. Go to "Program Settings"
3. Select from "1. Select a program to customize:" sub-menu the "Path of Exile" game, and make sure you select "High-performance NVIDIA processor" from the "2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program". This forces the x32 version of the game to run on your dedicated video card, but does not fully fix the program, because we have to force the x64 version as well.
4. Click on the "Add" button and search for the x64 executable of the game(easiest way is to just run the x64 executable once, and it will appear on top of the list, if not use the "Browse" button), select it and click "Add Selected Program".
5. Do the same thing as stated at number 3. for this executable, and click "Apply". Now you should be able to run the game from Steam and you should have your performances back.

its actually because they legacy'd direct X9 and forced in X11 which cant scale down gfx in the same method and completely makes decentish pc's obsolete

I can maintain 100-120 fps (capped) in solo play with HH buffs. Full group i get 60 fps. Only issues I have is random crashing atm (Present error). I have ryzen 5 3600, gtx 1070, 16 gb 3200mhz + SSD.
