democracy should function like this
1) what would people like to see implemented
2) is this negatively affecting the majority?
3) if no, then lets implement it!
in reality its like this
1) okay we need to push this goal (in this case prolong players ingame time)
2) are enough people complaining?
3) if the answer is no, ignore those people
4) if the answer is yes, push some high tier PR so ppl believe we are doing this to help them. use gaslighting statements like "we feel that players need.." or "players want a challenge"
anyone, and i mean literally anyone who still considers ggg a "friendly neighbor company who understand their fellow gamers" or whatever, is a midwit and/or has invested so much in the game that he/she cant think straight. ggg is a company that focuses on profit, it doesnt give a shit about gamers, and should be treated like that
and "free to play" is a business model. its on the rise not because its ethical, but because it pays off. and it pays off partially because the said midwits consider it ethical and buy into it
solution is this: everyone should live in a low trust society like mine for a while, it helps understand peoples motives better
