The account wasnt unused and had 10+ lvl 90+ chars on it. Well I didnt acctually play the account actively, but I logged in every few weeks for a couple of hours.

Are you sure GGG deleted it or someone else logged in and deleted it.

Hmm..... while that is indeed possible in theory....I dont see how it could have happened, my passwords are really random and I dont ever use the same pw for more than 1 account....
And the person would need access to the connected mail adress aswell, cuz when poe recognizes an IP change it usually asks you for an unlock code sent to your mail addy....

Also why would someone delete it?! Rather capture and keep it then, no?!
GGG deleting the account is really the only realistic scenario imo...

I know that I gave my buddy a nice, short name and he hadn't logged onto it for years+

eventually he logged in to give it back to me and it was gone

so... it became inactive and someone yoinked it, not sure how the name system works on poe.

It's weird because you're saying that your ACCOUNT got deleted, not the CHARACTER(s)

I'd try doing what the other guy suggested and see if you can create a new PoE account using the same login detail as the original

If it says that the account name/email address is already in use then it's either an error on GGG's end or intentionally by them
If it says that the name/email address is available then it's once again either an error on GGG's end or intentional

Regardless, I'd try to reach out to them on a different burner account
If they say it's a mistake, then hopefully you get the account back (since I'd hope that they take into consideration account creation date when debating if they're involved in RMT)
