It wasn't intended for Cyclone to be quite as strong as it is, but a number of factors contributed. We strongly try to avoid mid-league nerfs once people have made characters, so we decided to let it play out for Legion. Don't be too worried about the implied nerf from the last sentence. Ideally, in 3.8.0, Cyclone will still be a great skill to pick but you'll certainly be far more likely to consider others as alternatives.

Pretty hard to nerf cyclone, its the mechanics that make it strong, a dps or ias nerf wont matter.

Sad masquerade ggg Is doing this since several leagues already. Since they can't control the balance they are trying to control the unbalance...

Cyclone was still crazy strong before 3.7, carried me through endgame in several past leagues. Got so much hate when all they really had to do was change the pathing mechanics for it to feel good, but it will still be my league starters for how efficient it is.

It's not hard to nerf cyclone.
Just reduce the numbers accordingly.

I can hit 26 million dps, I went with 3 million and built immortal, I could take a pretty hefty nerf and clear all content.

Don’t let it’s AOE scale from weapon range, nerf some damage, slow the stack buildup, etc.

I just hope the idiots finally remove HH from the game... how fucking long until they realize how broken it is and bad for the game

Cyclone will be nerf hammered like any skill which has been too much popular in the past, ggg will probably reduce the radius, speed multiplier, efficiency...

I seriously doubt they nerf HH because many people are using it and it's a central item in the game, on the other hand they could cap amount of mods a player can catch.
