Yep, just did uber elder with mine. My Winter Orb was level 17.

Did a few shaper runs with a level 14 gem.

The skill is pretty nice. I didn't even mix it with BV or anything.

conversion or full cold/pen scaling? frost bomb for bossing? i'm also playing one but couldn't bring myself to no-life to maps yesterday (crashed hard) just looking for other ideas to maybe expand the build

winter orb have keywords: duration/projectiles
your pretty match forced to take gmp
skill duration notes helpfull aswell, to reduce cast required

cast when channel, a skill that have the projectile-duration keywords: artic breath ( or /cremation/essence drain)

Cold to fire (so I can use my leech anger watcher's eye and I get a good damage bump from herald of ash)
I'm inquisitor so no penetration
Full crit
I also have a fire burst wand that adds a ton of damage

I'm likely going to switch out cold to fire for something else once I work out a way to include other leech. Don't really wanna use warlord's on hit ring because it means I'm only leeching on the second hit and it's weak against bosses.

flasks for leech? atziri/vinktar? should cover enough no? not sure how much lightning you have.cause yea warlords on hit eats a curse slot and ring slot, does the 2nd hit leech only hurt that much vs bossing or is it just certain fights that it really impedes?

i'm going a mostly cold elementalist letting the ascendancy do work and trying to scale mostly defensive, seems really strong atm but still lvling

fair point, completely slipped my mind.

the new focus mod with 10% leech and vaal pact while focused? slap that on a yellow and just pop your focus when needed 4sec dura/12sec cd from use, def not perfect but a good stopgap til you can find a permanent solution

aside from that my brain is drawing a blank

I think I'm going occultist WO...don't have a tree layout done yet though. Going massively defensive though to try and best my highest level yet.
