Hey guys ! I was bored and decided to start this game. So far so good, on act 7 and followed a vaal reave champion guide I saw on the internets.

I'm starting to understand the game more and more. I've been reading a lot etc ...

Still, I'm going to ask you guys who've been playing for a while 1 question : What's the top thing you know now you wish you knew when you started the game ?

inb4 answers like ''I wish I knew this game was bad I never would have started'' etc, don't start on that please

For me, it was the usage of the poe wiki. When I first started I really never knew about it. I always just got stuck on something and rage quit, or asked redundant questions in global chat. Now I use it extensively to check the level req on gems, what the quality does, which npc sells which gem, level req for certain skills, list of uniques for a certain type, and more.

When I started playing I knew a guy that had a couple houndred hours in the game so I just had to ask him whenever I had any questions.

However, a couple of qol things you can do is
Get a loot filter
Get a currency tab
Use the poe wiki
Learn vendor recipes

Soon as ilvl 60 items start dropping do the chaos recipe to build up some currency.

Try out the Xbox version, ive had a lot more fun than on pc as much as I don't like to admit it.

there is only 1 question that needs to be answered for decision making,

does it give the same disco, less disco or more disco?

always go for more disco!

Thing I wish I knew when I started. All currency are not worth picking up. Get loot filter and watch few videos to see that items to look for. Get premium stash tab to sell items you have found.

Always follow a build guide until you know more about stats/skills/items. Find a great build that suits your play style and upgrade items while you level. It is totally worth to use your currency to upgrage your gear.

First league is always about learning anyways.

#get a loot filter
-> 99% of blue / white and 98% of yellow items are crap no need to stash em ( armor / helm / belt ... armour in general )
-> however, picking up yellow items help leveling if you do not want ( or have no currency ) to buy leveling items

# if you are okay with trading leveling items ( cheap so far in the league ) there are evergreens like tabula rasa, wanderlust, karui ward, wyrms mold and goldrym and some build dependent good leveling items as well.

# real game starts after act 10 with mapping !

# fucking up your first one or two builds is usually normal

# public channel 820 can help a lot especially for getting lab help

I wish I knew the existance of the chaos recipe earlier, it helps alot on early league to get 2-3 key item to get your build started

(Rare item level 60-74 of each slots to vendor = 1 chaos if at least one item is ID or 2 chaos if they are all unid)
