I don’t get the hype behind poe, seems like a super slow arpg imo
I’ve only played it for like 15 hours or so, but even the gameplay I watch on twitch seems like everything is moving at turtle speed.
The game looks really pretty, but with the pace of the game being so slow I can’t get myself to play it
poe is indeed shit
but
imo the main problem with poe is that it lost its soul. i havent seen a bigger bait and switch ever since that girl i fucked in plovdiv turned out to be a guy
basically it started as a d2 spirit successor, it was comfy as fuck and you could do random runs every day and never get bored
but then it abandoned the most important arpg goal: human interaction. i mean yes pvp would be the best way to do that, and poe pvp has indeed always been shit, but still pvm was good, people liked to do runs in parties, it was fun! then as more and more things were added, it started to be less of a comfy party with friends and more of a "i need to earn at least 20divs/hour or i cant afford to get the best belt in 3 days". and although its hard to pinpoint the exact moment, poe eventually perverted all sense of human interaction and turned it into mindless competition for no particular goal, as everything is pretty much reset every 3 months. you dont see parties in poe anymore, ppl barely even talk
10 years ago i knew favorite dish of everyone from my friendlist, now i dont even know if xXxMfPala_HdinPolacyxXx in my friendlist is an actual friend or someone i just added so i can track him because i wanna buy something from him
still for whatever reason poe has a lot of players. probably has to do with it the fact that everyone whos in poe has probably invested at least 1000$ and now cant get out. on the other hand poe is convoluted af so new players cant get in. so i assume poe will die when its community dies. literally
