Hi all, thanks for your help in advance.

I've been playing golf for a long time now... Approximately 7 years. The last set of brand new irons I got were the Taylormade R7s. They were great.... But I feel its finally time to upgrade.

I'm looking just for irons. Brand new around $700-$1100. I'm about a 18 handicap golfer (yes, I suck). Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should look first? Obviously I will playtest the shit out of all the recommendations before I buy. Just need an idea of what you all think is good.

Thanks.

looking for iron or graphite?

You could try out the R11s...I think they may be due to throw out a new line though...the only reason I'd wait would be to pay a couple hundred less.

I'd give the Callaway X hot a look as well they look pretty decent..

If you're willing to spend that amount, why not get quality? Definitely take a look at the Titleist 712 Ap1's, beauty irons which are forgiving

Thank you both. Great suggestions. I've added them to the "hit list". I love Calloways, always wanted them, just never could justify spending that much so soon after buying the R7s. Now I will give the X-series a hard look. The 712 Ap1's are definitely gorgeous.

I use AP2's.... AP1's aren't forged!
