so im 5/11 and 145ish lefthanded. ive taken up golf about 6 months ago and love it, to the point of walking 9 after school everyday i can (free since on team  )

when i first started i had the usual trouble with slicing as amatuers do but i fixed it pretty quickly. the problem now has arisen where i pull it. hard.

it started happening with my old drier, but i figured it was the driver because it was closed face and i fixed the slice. but my new driver ( http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/nicklaus-golf-lh-dp-fastback-driver.html) is neutral and im still having this problem.

my irons are very straight and the woods play a slight draw, but the driver is killing me because im constantly pulling it right.

there are not many places that tell how to fix a pull online, so im hoping i can get some advice here (and im really happy there a golf sub forum now :) )

your Grip is most likely too strong

go back to a standard grip and dont put too musch pressure with your hands

its useless

at first it will feel weird but your wrists needa be free

that means more club speed and more consistency, since your hands dont control club face angle (opened / closed)

it could be somehting else, but the grip is usually the main problem

is there any more possibilities?

outside to in swingpath, with a closed clubface. Try this, dont change your grip but tuck your left elbow into your side during your downswing and make an effort to swing from the inside into the ball. should fix it

I've found, especially with my driver to just go to the range, or with someone who is a better golfer/pro to watch you hit a few drives. It is important to NOT fill your mind with a bunch of different swing thoughts, or the driver can be your worst enemy.

My recommendation is that. If you do this (No matter how bad you snap hook it) Just shake it off, don't let you mind get angry, especially if you've only been playing for 6 months. I think you just need a few helpful tips from someone who can actually see your swing in person and just work on it on the range (:

I occasionally will pull a drive to the left (I'm right handed) When I do this, on my next tee shot I will rehearse my downswing and really feel my right shoulder pushing through the ball (Your left shoulder, cuz ur left handed). I've been playing golf since I was 7 years old and still find myself shaking my head... Its something you will never master..just look at Tiger :(. Its important to have fun though, and practice.

My Highschool coach told me something that I will never forget and is prolly the best golf advice I've gotten and that is "If you truely want to fix something in your swing/stroke, you need to devote 5-7 hours a week(7days) for a month to truly feel confident about something.

Also alot of new golfers will severely overswing with the driver (Cuz the ball goez so far!!!1!) I dont know what your swing speed is, but I'd imagine around 90-100mph with driver, which is average. Just keep a note to yourself to keep your upper body connected through out the swing, and finding something that feels comfortable to you, then practice

Been my swing though for the last month... not to fix any problems but has given me a sexy 5 yard draw w/ more roll. +10 to 15 yards total distance. Not sure how it works, but it does. Feels like I am gonna push/fade the ball but... nope
