Just played this Jack Nicklaus design yesterday and Holy Shit!!! This course is by far the hardest course I have ever played.
But damn, it is GORGEOUS. Built into the landscape and even used existing rock formations as stairs to tee boxes etc... phenomenal.
Course rating=77.2 and slope = 153 O.o

We played the tips just shy of 7,700 yards. and a lot of that is up hill. Staring down a 490 yard par 4 that's uphill all the way... I hit a good driver and a hard 3-wood (also well stuck)... 20 yards short, lol.
The course had 1+ " of rain the night before so drives weren't getting any roll at all.
Bentrgrass tees and fairways, ryegrass/KBG rough. There is only about 10 yards of rough on either side of the fairway until it's native area. If you don't hit a driver well you are effed.
I felt like I hit the ball well all day and I shot a 81. LAWL. Days after shooting a 69 ... FML
Typical Nicklaus greens... fairly large with huge undulations. Course knowledge woulda been huge here. In certain spots if you are passed the hole putting back down hill your ball ends up off the green and 20-30 yards down the fairway. (we just set balls down and they rolled off)

Buddy of mine from the East Coast said it was harder than Bethpage Black. Gonna go back in a few weeks take another stab at it. I'll be sure to take my camera next time.

Looks good man, ive played a few Nicklaus courses and they have been very good.
7600 yards with damp conditions plays so long man, these guys have no idea but ive played these conditions in many tournaments
you are so right about the greens at courses like this. Jason Kidd (Tethrow and bandon dunes) does the same thing. You might hit a shot at the pin, but then it starts rolling clear over to the right side of the green because someone buried a car in the middle of the green. lol
