Golf is a sport. It takes physical skill to play.

Ever walk in a sporting goods store? Biggest section is the golf section? For example, Dick's Sporting Goods. Every Dick's store, the biggest section is for Golf.

High School sports? Golf is there.
College Sports? Golf is there.
Professional Sports? Golf is there.

Sports cover a very WIDE variety of activities. Don't be so shallow as too think what you like and what you don't like is what constitutes a sport or not.

Looking at the big picture, all sports are just games at their core. That's why we "Play" them.
