Not sure if I want to golf a lot but want to get a set of clubs that will be good for a newbie until i get more of an idea of what I like.

found some sets of clubs for 150$...I am wondering if they are shit and I should spend more money or they are good to get into the game with.

more specifically

I dont want to spend a lot because I am unsure of my interest in the sport...but I need my own set.

This looks like a great starter set with everything you will need. I saw there are 2 versions, the second one has steel shafts. I recommend the graphite because of the lighter weight, easier to swing. For the money that's a great price, and even free shipping you cant go wrong. Heck you could easily sell them on craigslist for $100 if golf wasnt for you.

Most clubs have a warantee, although Dicks might have a seperate policy that you should look into. Breakage happens rarely, but expensive when it happens. Steel reshaft is around $25 and graphite around $50 at a club repair shop.

I actually decided to order these

http://www.amazon.com/Top-Flite-13-Piece-Complete-Golf-Right/dp/B0034DI6MO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312943126&sr=8-1

on eebay for 20$ cheaper with free shipping

A friend said his uncle got them to start and they were really good quality for being so reasonably priced. I am pretty psyched!

That should be a great starter set. At this point, it is all about practicing the swing motion and there are so many clubs that can do that. My first set was the Golden Bear set. It worked well for quite some time and I'm actually going to hold onto it until my son is a little older and let him use it. The best piece of advice I think I can give is to just laugh about your really bad shots, don't worry about crushing the ball, find out what clubs hits what distance with a light easy swing (it will still go quite far). But most of all, just enjoy walking or riding the course and being outside on a beautiful day.
