go to your local golf shop
find the used clubs
try each set out until you find one that feels right
its what feels good to you, not what other people think

Go on Craigslist.org

Look for a Decent set of Callaways or Pings, There more forgiving for the Beginner / Intermediate player.

You can get a full set of both used in decent condition for 300.

Don't spend that much on your clubs, you are new.
Re-Grip your clubs every year. I recommend golf pride tour velvet wraps.
X-Stiff or Stiff Shafts, unless you are an old man.
Until you play regularly like myself there will be no need for custom fittings.
Always have fun.

regrip every year?!? hahaha useless if you don't play every day.
Don't get x shafts just yet. it will get you back problems later on.

just go to a local golf shop and ask them what they got. most golf shops have starter sets for around 200 euros.

The brand shouldn't really matter too much.

I hit a set of clubs I got for 140$ just as good as I hit my Callaways.

i am also looking for a set of durable clubs at the same time that wont break quickly. it seems like people say cheaper woods/hybrids break quickly. the irons dont seem to matter though they are all roughly the same

well it depends what brand it is. just make sure the brand of clubs you buy is a decent well knows brand. (dunlop for instance)
ofcourse the chance of the clubs breaking is higher than expensive clubs but then again. you aren't buying expensive clubs ;)

just ask around in golf shops and ask what to do if something breaks.

i worked in a golf store and we always had some kind of insurance about these cheap clubs. you could just get a new one from us :P
