Gentlemen, being real and being honest here.

Started playing golf and I average 102-106 on a course playing from the white tees. Got some old hand me down Titleist AP1s, I play any ball I find in the woods and use a Callaway Big Bertha.

Looking for what you believe is the best advice to get a beginning player to start making some golf gains per say.

My driver is either off or on. When it's on I am driving ~270 and straight. When it's off I have a disgusting slice. Occasionally topping the ball with my mid-irons as well. Chipping is an absolute weakness and feel like everytime I play I change the way I try and chip.

Looking for your best advice, whether it's youtube videos or typed out to help me figure it out. Not saying I want to be scratch, but definitely wanting to step the game up.

I play on average 2-3 times a week.

Practice the short game first, you can gain a lot of strokes here. Work on lay up putts and lean on the importance of two putting. Use an App or get a swing coach to help for swing consistency and your swing pattern.

You get enough rounds in during the week that if you're applying yourself, you should make some solid gains over time. A solid follow on YT and my personal favourite is Golf Sidekick - he's hilarious and relatable.

Shot an 88 on Saturday, been playing consistently for around 3 years now and started off in the 100-110 range. Best round this year was 83.
