battlefield 2142 wont work on my windows 7. i installed it and have directx9 installed but for some reason when i go to launch it it says " please insert battlefield 2142 install disc and select ok to retry. (yes the disk is in it and yes i am sure i installed it properly)

You sometimes can get these sort of things when the computer detects virtual drive software on your computer. Do you use virtual drives at all? Is this being run on a virtual drive?

would a dvd cd emulator work to get this going you think?

That might be why it's not letting you run it. You may have to cloak your virtual drive software. Try looking for something called 'Y.A.S.U', although I'm not sure if that only works for Daemon Tools / for SecurRom. Either way, you may have to try removing that / cloaking it first, as the game may think you're trying to run an illegal copy using this software. Of course, if you indeed ARE, then cloaking is pretty much your only option.

i dloaded dtlite4356-0091 and am currently dloading my patch for the game even though its not working. i will rebot my comp than try and use dlite to run it

also i didnt have any virtual drives running when i tryd this the first time. so sorry i said yes
