would it be silly or even 'over the top' of me to contact the "internal affairs" division of my local sheriffs department if there were untruths of fabrications on a police report partaining to a juvenile arrest of mine?

It is over 6 years old but as a juvenile I was never directly provided with a copy of the police report, I have been researching it lately and found out a lot of the description in the police report is not at all true, or even dare I go as far as to say fabricated.

I went to see a military recruiter recently and told him the story of my arrest, and then went to my local court house and got a copy of the police report at his request and the police report conflicted drastically with the events that actually occured.

They suggest that I performed much more serious actions than my actual true part in the crime, and my lawyer has suggested to me that I just accept it and hope that they overlook my past mistakes, but I find it morally unsettling to say that I did something that I did not and would like to possibly request that the police officer who made the report attempt to recollect the events that took place and recant the falsifications.

I am not trying to get the charges changed or dismissed in any way but I really really just want to be able to tell the truth without documents contradicting me with untruths.

Would "Internal Affairs" be just silly/crazy of me?

If not "Internal Affairs" then how should I go about something like that?

Contact the judge who oversaw the case? The district attorney? What?

They'd never believe you, nor would they care.

I'm going to ignore this post since I know quite a few officers in the sheriffs department, and they believe me.

Plus there are a few errors of logic that would raise question with any relatively intelligent person.

I actually have spoken to quite a few sheriffs in regards to this subject and they have advised me that they can not legally give me any advice as to the proper route to take in regards to legal porceedures as it could leave them liable.

But they have expressed empathy and understanding for me and have gone out of their way to help me.

Quite a few officers at my county sheriffs department and city police department; Also the court house itself.

You seem to be answering the question yourself. The officers are basically saying it straight to your face. We believe you, but we are not allowed to say that. So take it up.
