I work at a hotel and we are having a problem with the internet. It runs but it is horrible slow. We all think there might be a virus on our network.

Slow speed.

Not sure if anything is wrong here.

Same.

Any ideas on a fix?

Sounds like you may have a loop in the network or possibly a guest using large amounts of bandwidth, are you using throttling limitations on users? Or can anyone use as much bandwidth as needed? Also are you using manageable switches or hubs for your data transfer?

I went through the internet/user logs and checked to see if anyone was on the net while the problem was going on. There was no one on but I still kicked every computer off the internet from my hotel just to make sure the bandwidth wasn't being used. The same problem is occurring. As for people using any amount of bandwidth, they can, but, lately we have had a slim number of patrons at the hotel and as I said I check the logs and no one was on.

/E As for a loop, how would I go about fixing this or checking if that is the problem?

What do your guests connect through? Are they plugged into hubs? Switches? Are the switches manageable? Is the problem on LAN or WLAN or both. Also, looking at the picture, it looks like you only have 1.5 mb of data allowed. That's not much for even a few users.

They use wireless net. They don't connect through anything but there laptops. The problem is Lan and Wireless. As for the picture I have had net running at 30+ Mbps and still say the same thing.

Have you tried contacting your ISP? That's a god-awful ping you there.
