Be sure he's checked the spam folder, depending on the email hoster, sometimes jsp is flagged as spam or even blocked entirely.
He should have the option to press "Resend validation email" in the top right corner. If he still is unable to get a validation email to come through, us the contact feature at the bottom of the page and wait for a response from that.
