Alright, since this is my first post and I know how to navigate this website, i will be flagged as a multi. So I want to get this all cleared up, so I don't end up wasting my time. Here's the deal:

Me and my brother used to live in the same house, with the same IP address and computer. He played Diablo II more than me, and through extension used this website. I was going to make an account, but he told me that was against the forum rules (this was a loooong time ago), and that not only my account would be banned, but his aswell. This is my first account and I'm on a different IP address, but since I did use my brother's account for some trading and poker and what not, does this make me a multi? If so, I'm fine with not using this site it just makes the game I play much easier and more fun to play. I don't even remember any details for his account or anything like that.

I do realize that one of the rules specifies "no sharing accounts" but its kind of hard not to in a situation like that, since any douchebag on here with multi's can just say "oh it's my brothers".

So my question is: Will this account get banned? And if so, why exactly?

I would be able to get away without saying any of this, I am just a very honest person if that justifies this.

The rule is 1 account per person, not 1 account per IP

As long as you can prove that you are two different people if it came down to it then it's fine :) just be warned that if he scams you may be punished for it

It's not against the rules to have more than one account on one IP, it is against the rules to have more than one person on an account.
Note that when there is more than one account on an IP, what happens to one account will happen to the other. (For example if your brother scammed a user and you were on the same IP, your account would get locked as well)

I'm on a different IP address

That's fine, just remember that it's one account per person, not per IP.

DO NOT ever use some elses account in the future, even if it is your brothers.

The rules state " One account per person" ... Not IP or household

As long as ur & ur brother are 2 seperate ppl & follow the rules u souldn't have a problem

Also keep in mind that if u are both on the same IP address, if one of u gets scams/gets locked or banned... U both will suffer the same conciquences/punishment
