Depending on your OS it'll be in your Network connections (xp) Manage adapter settings (7) and something with change connection settings (vista) right click on what you use

LAN= Wired
Wireless = well Wireless

click properties

Find TCP/IP in the list HIGHLIGHT it by left clicking on the name
then click properties
if its set to auto= DHCP
if its set to obtain one and one is set there = Static
