Is it inevitable?

I burned myself yesterday or two days ago and the mark has darkened, I took care of it with burn ointment and it doesn't seem to be disappearing at all, it actually seems to be leaving a darker print like a scar almost.

I burned myself by touching the top of the oven with the top of my hand, I was trying to put cooking spray under a chicken patty but I didn't pull it out, so I guess it's my fault! -.-

It's not big and not too serious but it was burning for hours when it happened.

It's this big:

Thanks for all the help :)

i advise keep putting the ointment cream on it. It depends how bad the burn is.

Visit your local market and purchase a different cream for burns and continue to take care of your hand in that manner.

Vitamin E oil is good for reducing scarring; Aloe on the burn also helps. Just be sure to keep it moist. Lotion will normally work pretty good.

It really depends on how severe of a burn it is. A pretty serious burn will almost always scar, no matter what you do. When it's that severe, the only option is really plastic surgery or a laser.

The main thing is to allow it to heal.

Don't pick at it and be careful not to re injure it as it's healing.

You can research lotions that may help but TLC is what it needs.

i hope you put it under the cold tap instant to take away the heat,

Like previously stated by myself and others keep it clean, the ointment, dont pick it. and keep it away from heat, which will only agrevate it.

Its going to scar.. but bearing in mind you take good care of it. the scar shouldnt be to prominant and will fade over time.
