I bought a used psp for $100 today and it does the following things:

makes a strange noise in the game slot where games go (nothings there.. but a weird ticking noise over and over)
i had it on the charger since it was completely dead for a good amount of time (5hrs+) and it is at 1 bar (i just took it off)
the internet switch to turn the internet on is missing


should i just take it back?

I would. Sounds like the battery is shot, broke the wifi switch and damaged the umd drive.

Did you purchase this "PSP" from a used games store? If so, then the "PSP's" hardware is damaged most likely. I would take it back to where you purchased it from and ask for a refund or ask them if they could replace it. Good luck.
