What would be a good Diablo 2 character to start off with? I know not to get too into that character because of the reset next month. So I just figured I would get a little input on a pretty descent character class just to mess around with until after the reset. Any suggestions?

if you just started, a mf sorceress or mf paladin would be good to get better items

Overall for general usage?
Probably a light or cold sorc. It's easy to get good damage and mf on them without much fg.
Of course, the more gear you buy, the better you'll be.

If this is your first time playing, then maybe a summoning necro might be better. They're a great starter and aren't dependent on gear.

I recommend you begin as a frozen orb/ lightning sorceress, because she can get really strong, take care of the creatures immune to lightning and ice, and she can MF without the need of heavy gear. For the creatures that are immune to fire, simply let your mercenary handle them. Good luck man.
