so i bought a laptop yesterday, used but in mint condition.. used less then 40 times and is in awesome shape
its just a netbook.

anyways i wad download crazy and i think i may have a virus, even though norton doesnt pick it up when i scanned.
but i could even be wrong.

anyways my cpu usage is through the roof, even just using internet,
not 100% all the time but jumping from 20 - 100 literally every second or two.

i dont believe it was like this when i got it.. so i think i did it.

is there anything free or easy i can do.

its a toshiba nb555d

with windows 7 starter.
id even like to reboot 100% to factory settings as to where i literally just bought the thing which is what the lady had done to it.

i just dont know how to etc.

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. It should detect any remaining warez.

Your netbook probably came with recovery discs, windows discs, and/or instructions for wiping it. Do you have a warranty?

Personally I'm not a big fan of Norton (its a resource hog)

Avg
Avast
Microsoft Security essentials

Are all good free anti virus's

Kaspersky (if u want to pay)

Malwarebytes & Spybot S&D for maleware

Reboot ur system in safe mode & use one of the Antivirus's I mentioned + malewarebytes & Spybot S&D

They will pick up any virus/maleware u may have in ur system

A fresh restore should be a last resort

It should show you what process is using the CPU in task manager.

you need to open the task manager, press ctrl+alt+delete
then go in processes
