well, were i live there chickens all over the place, and happens to be that a chicken has little chicks under my house. they are a couple of days. mabye a week or 2 old, and this morning my mom found one of them covered in red ants. She gave the little chick a bath to get all the ants off, but it looks like the chick has little power in it. its eyes are closed and were forcing it to eat. is there anything else we can do to help it re-cover. and before you suggest it, the animal care/control where i live is terrible. if i call them today, they will probably show up in 2 weeks from now.

Just take it to a local Vet?

Fire Ants have a poisoness bite so I suggest you either bring it a vet or call the animal care/control and wait for them if it seems really serious

poor chick :(
I can only suggest you carry on doing what you do... by eating and resting its a natural way of healing + growth.
but if the chick is in pain or unresponsive... i dont want to sound cruel and cold hearted but maybe have you considered putting the poor thing out of its misery?

from what you said about the animalcare/control... i guess it would have to be your and your moms hands.

personally id keep the chick inside, care for it, clean it, feed it, and give it love and attention. it might make a rebound ( i hope )

sad thing to hear :(

A mixture of baking soda and water applied to the bites with a q-tip will draw out the sting. But it may be too late to help with any venom that got in the blood stream.

If your little chick is showing signs of improvement then simply do not take your eye off of the little chick man and try to pamper the little chick back to full health and hopefully everything goes well with the little chick. Do not let it stress though, such as leaving the little chick alone and walk, etc. until you see that the little chick is much stronger. Take care of the little chick.

You mean a poisonous STING.

There isn't much you can do, you can try calling a vet from another area to ask for advice over the phone.
