They are created the same way as the old Ith items, you make a runeword, remove the runes, abuse som glitch that allows you to keep the runeword stats but not the runestats(ie jah will not give life etc)
The method to do this is not entirely unknown, problem is that blizzard has a warden that detects whenever items that has runeword stats but not runes get -resocketed and delete it.
However for some reason the anti-ith warden dosen't detect when theese runewords gets socketed with another runeword that's why theese items dosen't get instantly deleted.
this is why you don't see grief with 4 jewels instead of runes (obviously jewels would be WAY more powerfull)
That's pretty much what I know about hybrid runewords.
