I'm getting this message when I try to run an old game. I run a lot of older games and I can't say I've ever had this problem, and have no idea how to fix it.

'x is a 16-bit application. You do not have permission to execute 16 bit applications. Check your permissions with your system administrator.'

I am running Vista but, before you post, please bear in mind that I am running the program as administrator by default and I don't even have UAC turned on. This game is also regularly updated by the developer so that it is compatable with all versions of windows, and thus would not require a program like dosbox to run.

Has anyone had this problem and does anybody know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

This is nothing to do with programming, it's to do with running software. This is the most suitable place for it.

Actually your having trouble setting up a program , Just trying too help but continue on.

32. I realise 64 still has a lot of compatability trouble with some stuff but I've never heard of 32 being incompatible with 16.

Yeah I saw that, everything they said to check in there is working correctly other than the part about 'Group Policy', which I'm not sure if Vista has; at least, I've no idea where to find it if it is there.

Yeah, I'm using Vista so Linux is out of the question.
