I heard something about it but didnt get the full idea. What is it?

maybe. there will still be people who want to play classic and expansion still.

They have said over and over the site will still operate normally...but I have the feeling after this it'll die.

Sure there's more than trading on this site, but that's the reason probably every single person came in the first place

This site is a community now. I have met many awesome people over the years and I doubt people will leave over D3. There are many popular forums out there that are not really about anything.

EDIT:

Also, after reading that article there is nothing saying the auction house system would make it impossible to trade items directly allowing a site like this to facilitate trading.
