i have play disc in, d2 is installed fine, but wont load due to "no play disc". solution please.

Download the copy from battle.net after linking it to your battle.net account. Will take about a hour to download but will be worth it afterwords.

Either download and install the online version of Diablo 2 or copy all missing .mpq files from your disc to your Diablo 2 folder.

not worth my time seeing as i got this to work fine before.

The time put into troubleshooting your problem exactly down to whats causing it could be solved by a simple uninstall and reinstall. Sometimes its just easier to re-do.

I got this problem from uninstalling and reinstalling. Now i am trying to fix it.

i copied over all the .mpq's from the install disc and play disc and i still am having the problem

wrong. all i had to do was manually install the patch from blizz site and now it works fine.

You said you were having a disk error, not a patch issue. Took almost a hour to find that out, could of had d2 downloaded and installed by then :)
