Comcast Internet is not available in my area.
Neither is DSL... What would be the next best thing that is fast?

Rural area? If so look for wireless local companies.

More out in the country.
Have AT&T Wireless air-cards, but the limited usage and some what slow speeds are annoying.

I live high in the mountains and we have a local company that provides some wireless services at steep prices, due to lack of alternatives.

You will probably need a local company that deals in high speed because national companies usually don't service the boondocks.
