I am planning on running a massive Diablo 2 game on bnet in my living room. 10+ people on 10+ computers.

Problem is that I can't seem to get more than 8 people on battlenet on my connection. Anymore than that and it
just says unable to connect to battlenet. Is 8 people online the max for one internet connection? Anyone have
some insight on this? =)

Running more then one instance of D2 from the same PC violates Blizzards TOU aggreement & is bannable

However I don't see anything regarding how many can be connected via the same IP address, but seeing as the max character per game is 8, 8 may also be the max per connection

just search around for proxy servers, to run diablo through or if u have programing skills, make 1 urself.

and u can without any porblems run them all on 1 computer, so that means that with 10 coms, if they are lesser then 3 years old, u should be apple to tun like 150 diablos.

feel free to pm me if u need more info/help

Proxys are considered 3rd party programs on d2jsp & cannot be discussed

As stated earlier by me:

Running Multiple instances of D2 from the same PC violates Blizzard's TOU aggreement & will result in ur CD keys being permanintly banned

Encouraging others/helping facilitate others to violatle the site rules is also not allowed & may result in punishments (suspensions/warns) being issued

Proxies aren't necessarily programs, and they aren't illegal. Their discussion is pefectly valid afaik.

But yes OP, 8 is the max but as mentioned you can easily use proxies (with the intent of disguising that you are running off the same IP only; running more than one instance of D2 itself on the same computer is against the ToS, but of course, you know this), which a quick google search will help you with.

The rule states 'No binaries, hacks, bots, exploits, or third party modifications of any game or program.'

Proxies are not binaries, hacks, bots, exploits, or modifications. They are perfectly legal programs that would, in this case, be used for legitimate purposes, and I see no reason why they would be banned from discussion.
