i had to format my computer today because of some problem in the registry that kept me out of windows all day.

so, now with a fresh copy, i find out that every single folder and/or subfolder in the new system is read-only, and it's impossible to modify (unchecking it and applying doesn't do anything, it becomes read-only after i close properties).

also changing the permissions on c:\ folders is impossible, i don't have permissions even though im admin.
UAC is off, but i still have all this trouble.
can't install anything in program files, which is absurd. can't even create folders and install anything in them, everything is completely locked away from me to use properly.

how do i go on about removing this crap? googled a hundred pages already, didn't find a single solution that worked so far.
