How can I turn off the cinematic feature?

I don't know -ns works for Mac version seeing how I haven't been able to get to that screen as in a PC.
I've been told uninstall and reinstall with multiplayer version but I downloaded the game from Blizzard store so it didn't give me that option.

Any other solution?

Edit: Reason is that every time I go from act 2 to act 3, after I skip the cinematic trailer... I get connection interrupted. I can rejoin game but it's annoying for when getting rushed

Playing the game in window mode should help. Since Mac does not know starting parameters, simply press Command + M (or Command + W) and the game should switch to window mode.
As it's only for rushing (according to your post), playing in window mode should be no big adjustment for you.

on macs you can't.. they'll play them even in window mode, full screen.. doesn't matter

best you can do is spam esc when you go to a new act and it'll just pop you in new act

I do that already
But it seems just right after... and only when going from act2 to act3... I get the connection interrupted message

rename your movies folder inside the d2 folder to anything else like "moviezz" then it'll not be able to find the video files when it switches acts.. if you get no connection error that means, basically, your video files are corrupted

Just tried that, with the two files that say "diablo ii movies" and "diablo ii expansion movies" but now when I try opening d2 it says instead cd. Guess I'm stuck with playing diablo like this

insert cd you mean?

if so yea try to see what that does? if you can reinstall the disks.. or do you not have them?

if not then yea you're stuck.. I never had a way to stop the vids on any mac computer, just have to use the esc spam
