  • Have had iTunes for years
  • Installed the latest version last night
  • Always have the START BAR on the top of my screen
  • Now iTunes is TOO FAR NORTH on my screen and I cannot minimize it to reshape it

My iTunes used to line up perfect just touching the bottom of my Start bar (which resides at the top of my screen)

1. unlock your task bar (right click, and select 'Lock Taskbar' so the checkmark goes away).
2. click on your task bar and drag it to the bottom of the screen
3. move your itunes window down an inch
4. drag task bar back up to top
5. re-lock it

It worked! But as soon as I moved iTunes down it minimized to a smaller box. I moved the task bar to top....all it good. Until I maximize iTunes and it, again, went underneath the taskbar at top as shown in picture in original post. And I restarted the computer twice to see if it made any difference and it did not. :(

Anyone know now I can make a video of what is happening so I can post it here?

you should be able to click anywhere at the top of the itunes window (the dark gray bar) in order to move itunes.

also, you can try right-clicking on the desktop bar, and go to properties. uncheck the box that says "keep the taskbar on top of other windows".

when you close itunes (click the x), make sure you have moved the itunes window to the desired position first before closing it.
then when you re-open it, it should open it at the same location.

Probably not a perm solution, but enable auto-hide?
MS took out the keep taskbar on top of other windows on/off option (pretty stupid of them)

How do you enable auto hide? I'll give it a try. I'm thinking a short video of what is happening would work well. I've moved the Task bar from top, to bottom, to left and right. When on the right Itunes seems to line up okay. But I want my task bar on the TOP always cuz it's been there for years.

Further, every time I have itunes maximized (whole screen) and click in the dark grey bar to move it it minimizes it to a smaller box. I DON'T remember that ever happening before and is part of the problem.

you can't move the window when it's maximized. it has to be in "restore" mode (not maximized). only click it once. don't double click it.

when it goes to restore mode, then click at the bottom right corner to resize the window.

You have to re install your "iTunes" to fix your issue StarryNight.

Right click the taskbar -> properties -> [x] auto-hide taskbar
Good luck finding a fix, I looked on Google and it looks like others are experiencing this too
