how to stop a puppy?
from rough playing, biting etc?

You can give it to a training center, or try to train it yourself and give it a treat when it does something good so that it will do it again to get that treat.

I don't have a dog but that is the best I can give you

From biting? Spray sour apple on your hands, available at your local pet store.

Lol, puppies should come with warning lables.
Of course they'll want to play, bite destroy things, etc. Remember though, this is the time that you can make some of the biggest impressions on the dog.
Be firm, establish a dominant role (make sure that he knows you're in charge), and reward for good behavior.
For further and specific training information, do a quick search online.

Also can NEVER have too much toys for a dog to chew on (better then the furniture) try the toys where you can put peanut butter in them, its great to help train a dog what to play with and what not to.

Punish it for doing bad things, give it treats for doing good things.
Punish as in yell.
And don't ever make exceptions.
