My 15 year old brother got into a fight with a man atleast 40 years of age. The man grabbed his neck n threw him to the ground my brother grabbed his neck back to defend himself and almost punched him out the cops came and the man was not arrested. This is in newyork state park. I'm jwin if anyone knows why.

If the man initiated the fight he should've been charged with assault or at least a misdemeanor. If your brother threw the first "punch" or whatever, then he is at fault and should be punished.

It might just be that fights happen so often in NY that the cops don't really give a shit as long as nobody is seriously injured.

It depends on the curcimstances involved in the altercation

U best course of action is to contact ur local LEA regarding this matter

They will have a greater understanding of ur local laws & can provide u a better explination in regards to ur individual case ( the report)

If your brother knocked the guy out in one punch, why should the adult be punished? O_o
Your brother should be for knocking him out, whether it was defensive or not.
