Yea so I'm using some tbs atm and I have everything in the correct placement for me to be able to speak, and yet there is no sound out of my mic. I can hear people fine, but they cannot hear me

are you able to hear yourself in test mode?
in setup, do you have enable outgoing communications checked?

If you are running windows 7, try running ventrilo as administrator .

Found out why, I forgot to use ctrl to talk

If you don't want to use the control key, in the setup lenient yo can set it to voice activation ;)
