Im currently using
OS: Windows 7 - problem from the beginning obv

If anyone has a fix that doesnt require disabling explorer.exe (yes the diablo.bat file fix that doesnt permanently fix it) id be happy to pay some fg

When i do the diablo.bat file fix, it will work, then ill alt tab and explorer.exe is gone until u exit the cmd promt, then the color fix will be lost...

Unfortunately, afaik, it isn't fixable I've tried basically everything, googled forever, etc. and I can't find a cure for it :S

I've been searching google for the last 10mins & haven't been able to find anything other the disabling Explorer.exe as u mentioned

It appears that I may not be fixable like Archmage stated.... Sorry

download VMware
Make virtual machine
Install windows XP or 98 on virtual machine
Enjoy all vintage games without having to disable explorer.

playstation 1 emulator and then play diablo 1 for ps1

run it in window mode

Make sure the game is fully patched. Right click on the shortcut Properities Compatibility Check all of these:

• Run program in compatibility for WinXP SP 3
• Run in 256 colors
• Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution
• Disable visual themes
• Disable desktop composition
• Run program as an administrator

Checking all listed things often helps.
