how big can my sig be?

The entire size of your signature shall not exceed 400 pixels wide by 150 pixels high.

I find it kinda shity that your sig has to be so small.. even with gif sigs it has to be under 70kb, and avatars have to be under 50kb..
It dosent really make sence seeing how d2jsp dosent even host the pictures... there always uploading on another website.
Someone tell me different?
