So, I just had to reformat my computer (Power surge crashed my harddrive, and I had to get a new one. Thank goodness it was still under warrenty) and I can't remember the password to my D-Link Router.

The SSID doesn't show up, because it's hidden. However, I do know the name of the SSID. Also, I connected it via ethernet and it still won't let me use the internet. Right now I'm connected straight to my modem, which isn't going to suffice, because I can't stand sitting at my desk.

Suggestions?

Yes, I've restarted it. It will not let me re-install (I have the disk that came with the router) because it's already installed on another system, being my old harddrive.

Also, it's not any of the above.

whats the name of the router?

I mean, if you need to install it with a disk it has to be a very special one

It's just a D-Link N+ 300... nothing special. It was like $80.

If your SSID is specified (named by you or somebody else), then as long as it got the same name the router is not restated.

And as long as the password does not work, the router is not restarted

You must try to restart your router once again, remember that you must hold the button in until the LED's blink once or twice (takes usually around 20 seconds)
