my configuration controls dont work, i have to manually open my inventory and my stats and manually switch weapons, w i a s etc dont work, and i checked the configuration and set to default and still not working

Have you tried checking if your keyboard works (if a certain letter is properly setup)
Try hitting alt + shift and see if it works.

i can bring chat bar up and talk to peope, and even switch my f keys, just cant do a through z in game without hitting enter first, it ignores it.

Since when are you experiencing this issue? Maybe restarting the game or your PC could fix it.
Also, what kind of an operating system are you running? Are you also hearing any specific sounds when you tap the a-z keys ? (like the typical Windows sound)

not hearing any of those sounds at all, i can use the letters all over the comp accept in game. hell i can even use them in game to type out messages, they just dont toggle.

I have never heard of this issue, yet. If you are using Windows Vista / 7, try to run Diablo in compatibility mode for WinXP, disable visual themes and desktop composition. If that does not help, I would recommend you to reinstall the game. (Since I also wasn't able to find any solution for this issue via Google)
