how do people add a greater bytes picture than the limit alloweds?

If i resise my image to fit the restriction its 3x smaller than others have

The limits are placed on sigs and ava's. Pics in threads or on your profile have no limit.

you would have to reduce the pic quality rather than the pic size to maintain size and keep it within the byte limit
