Computer on under the night, is that bad?

Leaving it on over night shouldn't hurt it if it goes into sleep mode

I've left mine on plenty of times

naw but doesn't it make an annoying sound?

How about I make it that after 1 minute, the screen goes black?



Cant hear it at all, its so quiet

Well I leave my computer on a long time, 1 minutes might be too fast. Mine is at 15 minutes cause I like to look at videos.

If you have a quiet computer than it is most likely a good one so leaving it on overnight wouldn't hurt at all. I leave my desktop on for days without completely shutting it off, at night I just turn the monitor off.

1 min might be a little to quick

I have mine set to go into sleep mode after 2 hrs of inactivity

Since I have 3 monitors & smetimes watch movies on it

My good old P4 is running 24/7 for now more than 2 years (no sleep, hibernate or w/e)

I believe its not very bad.



90-99% of laptops dont have a graphic card.

depending on what you are doing and if using a laptop i would have a extra fan going else the graphic card might get overheated

I never turn my comp off.. The way I see it leaving the power on MIGHT shorten the life of some of your computer parts.. but so does new technology making your parts obsolete.. And that usually happens waaaay b4 ur parts fry themselves.
